From 13th c. the Medival hill town, Città della Pieve has been cultivating saffron primarily for dyeing fabrics.

At that time the town was an important center of production of cloth known than as crimson cloth derived from the deep red of the saffron flower.

The client asked for a trasformation of their entire family estate.

This included reconfiguring roads, designing and constructing orchards, gardens, a pool, exterior dining and living on a multiple-terraced site.
